A distinguished private residence in Manhattan is seeking an exceptional Housekeeper to join their household team. This full-time position is best suited for a highly polished, service-driven professional with extensive experience in formal private homes.

FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER – PRIVATE MANHATTAN RESIDENCE
Manhattan, New York | $35–$40 per hour

Pembroke Household Staffing is seeking an exceptional and experienced full-time Housekeeper for a sophisticated private family primarily based at their Manhattan residence.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an accomplished private-service professional who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully appointed home to impeccable standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional housekeeping, laundry and wardrobe-care skills, meticulous attention to detail, discretion, professionalism, and a naturally service-oriented approach.

Manhattan is the family’s primary residence and will be the principal focus of this year-round position. During the summer season, primarily June through August, the position will transition between Manhattan and the family’s Hamptons residence, with approximately 3–4 days per week spent in the Hamptons. Accommodations will be provided while working in the Hamptons.

Outside of the summer season, occasional coverage at the Hamptons residence may be required based upon the family’s schedule. There may also be limited domestic travel to another family residence in the western United States during the fall and winter, typically only a few trips per year as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the residences to an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and organization
• Perform meticulous daily and detailed housekeeping throughout the home
• Provide knowledgeable care of fine furnishings, finishes, stone, wood, glass, artwork, and delicate household surfaces
• Manage all aspects of high-quality laundry care, including washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding, and proper garment handling
• Maintain beautifully organized wardrobes, closets, linens, and household storage areas
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing dry cleaning and specialty garment care
• Prepare and maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, guest accommodations, and common areas to consistently impeccable standards
• Ensure the residence remains polished, organized, comfortable, and guest-ready at all times
• Assist with household inventories, pantry organization, restocking, and general household organization
• Recognize and promptly communicate maintenance issues or concerns to household management
• Assist with elegant table settings, casual meal service, and cleanup as required
• Coordinate with the Chef and other household staff to support family meals, guests, and entertaining
• Assist with errands, shopping, and household requests as needed
• Work collaboratively and professionally as part of an established household team
• Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality regarding the family, guests, residences, and household affairs

The successful candidate will understand that exceptional private service extends well beyond cleaning. We are seeking a professional who notices the details, anticipates what requires attention, and takes genuine ownership and pride in the presentation and care of the residence.
Candidates should possess:

• 5–7+ years of professional housekeeping experience, preferably within high-end or formal private residences
• Exceptional housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe-care skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of caring for fine furnishings, luxury finishes, and delicate materials
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• A proactive, self-starting approach with excellent follow-through
• Ability to work independently while functioning seamlessly within a staffed household
• Polished, professional, and service-oriented demeanor
• Excellent time-management and communication skills
• Flexibility to accommodate the changing needs and schedule of a private household
• Ability to work approximately 3–4 days per week in the Hamptons during June through August
• Flexibility for occasional Hamptons coverage outside of the summer season
• Willingness to undertake limited domestic travel to the family’s western residence as required
• Excellent, verifiable professional references from previous private household positions
• Absolute discretion and commitment to confidentiality
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS

This is a full-time, year-round position with Manhattan as the primary home base.

Manhattan: Primary residence and principal place of employment throughout the year.

Hamptons | June–August: Approximately 3–4 days per week, based upon the family’s schedule. Accommodations are provided while working in the Hamptons.

Hamptons | September–May: Occasional coverage as required.

Western U.S. Residence: Limited travel during the fall and winter, generally only a few trips per year as needed.

Flexibility is essential, particularly during the summer season and when the family is entertaining.

COMPENSATION

$35–$40 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus applicable overtime.

The family is seeking an exceptional professional with a strong private-service background.
